You may have been thinking about starting a business of your own, but realized there’s a lot you need to know before you get started, and that realization has stopped you from moving forward.
There’s so much to learn, and so many questions about whether you’ll like it and whether you’ll be successful.
There are quite a few things that you should know before you make the life-alteringly wonderful and very real decision to start your own business, but business success secrets that successful entrepreneurs have learned aren’t just about marketing or other business elements, but also about mindset.
That’s why I decided to write this post.
I’m giving you the real deal about what you need to know, because if you end up starting the wrong business or not being cut out for business, it doesn’t matter that you have a desire – things aren’t going to turn out well for you, and that will be a shame.

These are three powerful mindset secrets that you have to have right or your business is doomed.
I say doomed, and I want to point out that I don’t use that word lightly. I’m not using it for dramatic effect. You will not be able to grow a business and succeed if you don’t play by the rules of even one of these secrets.
But, if you can get them right from the start – and you can – you can set yourself up for business success. You can save yourself the pain, heartbreak and stress that comes with a struggling small business.
So what are these 3 Powerful Secrets for Business Success? Let’s take a look:
3 Powerful Secrets For Business Success
Business Success Secret #1: Passion or Mission
Before you object and tell me that there are many businesses that have been started without passion or mission, let me first tell you that many of the best businesses have been based on these very things. It’s been proven by stock performance, employee satisfaction, and company longevity.
But that’s not even where I’m going with this.
While there have in fact been many businesses built without passion and maybe even without a strong sense of personal mission, my guess is that I know you, my reader. If you are who I think you are, then you’ll need passion or a mission to drive success in your business.
Why?
Because here’s what I know about you: One of the main reasons you want to start a business in the first place is that you can’t stand to do work that doesn’t mean something to you. So why in the world would you go and create a company that does nothing for you except create money? Given how much work and focus it takes to build a business that creates the income and lifestyle you desire, why would you do that to yourself?
You don’t.
So save yourself the trouble, and find a business focus that you can be passionate about or a mission you can get behind. Your start-up, even if your business is just you, is going to be a hell of a lot of work, trust me. You don’t want to be doing something that stinks.

Business Success Secret #2: Be Sure You Want To Be In Business
Many people say, “I want to start a business,” but what they really mean is “I want to practice my craft.”
See, there are many different motivations for being in business.
One of them is being able to do what you’re passionate about, like work with people as a coach, a therapist, or a healer, or to start another type of service or consultancy to help people. Many people want to be of service and to do the thing they are most passionate about (they have nailed Secret 1 but they are missing Secret 2.)
Some other reasons people sometimes want to go into business are because they want to be their own boss, they want to have financial freedom or control over their schedule.
None of these reasons are wrong or bad. In fact, they’re great. But they can’t be the only reasons driving you to become a business owner. Business is way too much work and way too complex to go into it thinking it’s all about the perks.
To have any level of business success, you have to know what it means to be in business for yourself. The good, the bad and the ugly. You have to be willing to look at the business side of your business, not just the service side, and you can’t go into it thinking it will be less work and more freedom than what you have now.
It won’t be.
It will be work of your choosing and money that goes into your own pocket, but it will be work. It will be working on your own schedule, and not reporting to anyone else, but you’re the boss and that means everything falls to you.
If you’re cool with that, you just might be cut out for business. If not, find another way to do what you love.

Business Success Secret #3: Perseverance And Grit
Starting your own thing takes energy, effort and time. You need the perseverance and grit to commit to your vision and go for it.
You can achieve big goals if you don’t give up on them and you stack your wins. It’s very disheartening to read stories of entrepreneurs who are making millions when you might not even have the courage to try yet.
What you need to realize is that you have to start and stick with it. That’s how they got where they did and that’s how you’ll get where you want to be. But if you give up, you won’t get there.
In business, it can be easy to give up. I’m here to tell you sticking with it is one of the secrets you must know about if you want success. There are so many opportunities to give up, but if you want to make it, you just have to try something new.
You may already know about this in theory, but until you know it in your bones and can practice it, it doesn’t matter.
Don’t listen to the naysayers, the hate mail, the social media stats, the bad revenue month, or any other negativity. Keep going.
Business Success Secret #3: Never, Never, Never Give Up.
