Stuck in a Rut? How to get out in 5 minutes

Have you been stuck in a rut lately?

Has life got you down?

If everything seems to have lost its sparkle, it’s time to get some of it back.

Here’s how to get out of your rut in 5 minutes.

First, remember that being stuck in a rut means life has become dull, tedious, mind-numbing, BORING.

You’re doing the same thing day in and day out. And most of it you don’t like anyway.

So it’s time to mix it up a little. Do something you find exhilarating.

Please note: this does not mean you should do something deadly, self-sabotaging, or illegal. Let’s save that kind of fun for Vegas.

No, I’m talking about some good clean thrills.

Maybe you’re the kind of person who can feel refreshed with a good old mental vacation. A couple of minutes on YouTube ought to do the trick.

Or maybe you really need something that will shift your mindset: An inspiring goal.

Now, I don’t know what kind of goal you’ll find inspiring.

It could be saving up for an exotic trip or writing a book. It could be running with the bulls or  walking on fire. It could be finishing school or running a marathon.

It could be anything.

But it has to be something.

Without a personal goal that you’re working on and striving towards – something you find equally inspiring, challenging and captivating, your life is going to feel dull.

You’ll be doing the same things, with the same people, in the same way, day in and day out.

Instead, if you have 5 minutes, you can get yourself out of that rut.

1. Spend 5 minutes writing down as many goals as you can think of that you’d like to accomplish and then pick one.

2. If you already have a goal, spend 5 minutes thinking about it, planning for it, knocking something off your to-do list related to it, or talking to someone about it.

I guarantee you that an exciting goal will get you out of your rut in 5 minutes flat.  Let me know if it works for you!
