Sometimes think positive quotes are just the thing you need to help you get back out there in the big, bad world and keep going.
When you feel like giving up, when you don’t know what anything stands for anymore, when you can’t see the possibilities, there’s nothing like a good quote to light that fire back up inside.
Here are some of my favorites to help you think positive again.
“Every day brings new choices.” Martha Beck
You can choose to live today differently. Don’t forget that. It’s totally up to you what you do with today and how you handle situations – even ones you’ve seen a million times in the past.
“Life is a journey, and if you fall in love with the journey, you will be in love forever.” Peter Hagerty
Fall in love with life! Your life, specifically. After all, what else do you have going on?
“You’ve done it before and you can do it now. See the positive possibilities. Redirect the substantial energy of your frustration and turn it into positive, effective, unstoppable determination.” Ralph Marston
“My dear friend, clear your mind of can’t.” Samuel Johnson
Need I say more?
“The best revenge is massive success.”
Yes, channel all that energy into doing your absolute best at whatever you love. Don’t let it destroy you. Instead, use it to your advantage.
“You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” Eleanor Roosevelt
That Eleanor. She was one smart lady. Why do you have to do that thing? Not because she told you to. Because if you don’t it haunts you. Because if you don’t that’s the tell that it’s the thing that you needed to do to grow and get to the next level and the next chapter of your story.
If you’re too afraid and you think you can’t, you must prove to yourself – no, you must be – stronger than that, to face what comes next for you. Because if you don’t successfully face that challenge, you go back to level one.
And level one is just no fun for anyone. That’s Stuckville.
“You are never to old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” C.S. Lewis
C.S. Lewis was undoubtedly a genius, so if he says it, it has to be true, right? Seriously, though, why would it be true that you can’t set new goals when you’re old? It just doesn’t make any sense. You may decide there are things you don’t want for yourself at a certain point in your life, but to stop growing and dreaming – that’s unbelievable.
“There is no stress in the world, only people thinking stressful thoughts and then acting on them.” Dr. Wayne Dyer
Stress is subjective. It’s not a real thing. You can’t grow it, you can’t eat it, you can’t breathe it or touch it. It comes from our minds and our thoughts and those cause us to behave in certain ways. Change your thoughts, change your life.
“The opposite of love isn’t hate; it’s indifference” Steven Pressfield
What do you do when you love something? You shower it with attention. The opposite of that is neglect or indifference. Don’t be indifferent to your life or your happiness. Love yourself enough to pay attention to what you need. What will make you happy?
“Don’t lose heart if it’s very difficult at times, everything will come out all right and nobody can in the beginning do as he wishes.” Vincent van Gogh
We all go through tough times. It’s to be expected. Sometimes we think that pain and suffering means that something is wrong – but it’s part of the process. We can’t always be going uphill all the time. The goal is to have it come out right in the end.
“Extreme hopes are born from extreme misery.” Bertrand Russell
The worse the struggle, the bigger the gain – at least that’s what we expect in a just world.
Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines. Robert Schuller
How else would we know where the boundaries are? How would we know where to stop, where the pain is? Problems keep us in check and keep us on the right course, but they don’t mean we should stop, go back or stay small!
“If you’re going through hell, keep going.” Winston Churchill
You might as well. You’re already almost where you’re going. And there’s no other route.
“What winning is to me is not giving up, is no matter what’s thrown at me, I can take it. And I can keep going.” Patrick Swayze
Not giving up. That’s what winning takes. Not giving up and continuing. Persistence = success. No matter how bad it gets. You can do it and you can be successful.
“Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will.” Zig Ziglar
If I told you I could give you something that would improve your mood, your appearance, your performance, your bank account, your relationships and your health by 1276%, and it was totally free, would you work hard to get it? Of course you would. . . Positive thinking will do just that. (*this number has not been independently verified or approved by the FDA)
“Instead of wondering when your next vacation is, maybe you should set up a life you don’t need to escape from.” Seth Godin
What if you actually did? What would have to change? And could you do it? Can you afford not to?
“You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind.” Joyce Meyer
It just doesn’t add up.
“Always do your best. Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.” Miguel Angel Ruiz
Don’t beat yourself up about it, ok? Do your best and get back out there. Today is a new day.
“Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it’s always your choice.” Wayne Dyer
What would motivate you? What do you want? It’s your choice to do something, but if the alternative is misery, it’s time to move. Thinking positive is a start (and these think positive quotes can help!)
Difficulties are meant to rouse, not discourage. The human spirit is to grow strong by conflict.William Ellery
You not only get where you’re going through the tough times, you get tough through the tough times. And the tougher you are, the more you can take. And the more you can take, the bigger challenges you get to handle in life. Bigger challenges mean bigger successes. Difficulties are preparation for success.
“There is only one thing more painful than learning from experience and that is not learning from experience.” Archibald McLeish
Funny, and true.
“A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success.” Elbert Hubbard
These are the key ingredients for success. Don’t give up. Get back out there. You won’t fail if you keep trying – you will succeed!
“You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world’s problems at once but don’t ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own.” Michelle Obama
Succeed not just for yourself, but for those around you too. . . your success can change the world.
