The story has stuck with us for so long because all of us can see Scrooge in ourselves. Not because we are grouchy and greedy, but because in each moment we all have a choice about shaping our own future.
But the truth is, the world moves so fast these days that it can be hard to have any time, attention or left over energy to even think about our Selves Yet to Come.
Yet if you don’t think about the future you, and take the time you need to make the right choices for that Self, you never get to a better place. You’re forced to wear those chains forever.
